Fritz Jacobi
Fritz Jacobi has 31 years experience in the newspaper industry, including 18 years as a CEO. He has served as president and publisher for the Wausau Daily Herald (WI), Springfield News-Leader (MO), Fort Myers News-Press (FL), and the Rockford Register Star (IL). He was able to manage all four newspapers to record profits in enterprises ranging from $25-$70 million in annual sales. Fritz was able to use his creative talent to develop new products and diversify the revenue base to achieve record sales.
As a business CEO, Fritz was involved with TEC as a member since 1990. He saw the value and benefits TEC membership delivered, so he joined new TEC groups as he was transferred to new newspapers around the country.
He has also been very active in economic development serving as the chairman for local economic development associations in Springfield, Mo, Fort Myers, FL, and Rockford, IL. These associations helped grow existing local businesses as well as attract new businesses to the community.
Fritz holds three business degrees including an Associates degree from the University of South Florida, and Bachelors and MBA degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
He is married with two grown sons. His hobbies include travel, biking, snow skiing, computer gaming, and the Green Bay Packers.
