John Wardrop
John Wardrop spent 35 years in the material handling industry with Sparks Belting Company, a custom fabricator/distributor of light-medium duty conveyor belting and internally driven motorized pulleys, with whom he served as Regional Manager, Vice-President/Sales and Marketing and President (22-years). Sparks serviced both OEM and end-users from its 9 fabrication plants in the U.S., China, Great Britain and Mexico.
In addition, for 4-years John was also President of DAKE, a manufacturer of metal cutting and forming machine tools, over-seeing that company's manufacturing and product restructuring.
Along with divisional leadership, his varied business responsibilities included product and sales management, team building, developing/maintaining exclusive distribution relationships with critical international partners and LEAN implementation.
John recently celebrated his 5th year as Chair of TEC 53 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A graduate of Dartmouth College, he is active in his community and currently serves on both the Agency and Foundation Boards of Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids.
