TEC Chairs:Edward Rowley
Edward Rowley

Ed has been a TEC chair for 13 years and was a TEC member in Madison many year before becoming a TEC chair. He has 2 TEC groups in Madison as well as the only TEC Associate Group in Madison. He also started the only TEC group for small companies in Madison. He has many members that have been in his groups for more than 10 years and is excited to see the growth and development of those companies.

Ed has 10 years experience as a CEO with Rowley/Schlimgen, Inc. an office products company in Madison. The company, a Steelcase dealer, grew from $5 million in revenue to almost $30 million in those 10 years. Profitability grew to adequately support that rapid growth. Being a TEC member during much of the 10 years helped grow the company and increase the profits.

Prior to becoming a CEO, Ed had grown through the financial organization in The Maytag Company in Newton, Iowa to The Graber Company (now Springs Window Fashions) in Middleton, Wisconsin. He was Chief Financial Officer at Graber for 10 years.

After graduating from The University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree Ed was commissioned in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Colorado Springs as an auditor for the Auditor General. This was the beginning of his financial career in the real world. He was invited to remain in The Air Force, but chose to join the business world instead.

Ed has and is still assisting many businesses and institutions through their Board of Directors or Board of Advisors. He has also been active with civic organizations such as The United Way and The Rotary Club of Madison, the 6th largest Rotary Club in the world. He is honored as a Paul Harris Fellow in the Rotary Club of Madison.

Ed and his wife Cathy have lived in Wisconsin for 35 years. They have 4 grown children who also live in Wisconsin. All members of the family are involved in business in various forms.

TEC is very important to Ed. It provides such a wonderful experience for CEOs from small to large companies and private to public companies. It truly does "increase the effectiveness of CEOs and enhances their personal lives." Active members do benefit by making better decisions, becoming better leaders, and enjoying increased profitability.
