Carlton F. Mielke

Global business development had been the focus of Carl's career until he joined TEC in 1996. He currently chairs TEC 1 (which proudly traces its lineage back to the very first group formed by Bob Nourse in in 1957) and TEC 48 which he formed in 1996.

After graduating from UW Madison he joined Globe-Union Inc. which later became part of Johnson Controls, Inc. He moved throughout the various product divisions always concentrating on international business development.

Most fascinating, was successful building of a international trading company within JCI. He led the effort to develop markets in Eastern and Western Europe, Asia and South America. He negotiated and signed one of the first automotive related equipment sales and technology contracts in China in 1979.

After leaving JCI in 1994 to establish Global Management Resources, Inc. a consulting company, he worked with companies to develop their international markets. He also designed and taught courses in Global Business Development.

He has helped promote Wisconsin's exports with his involvement in various trade promotion groups acting as Chair of the Wisconsin District Export Council and serving on the Governor's Export Strategy Commission. He was a consultant to Wisconsin Department of Commerce.

He resides in Brookfield, WI with his wife Betty. They have two sons Chris, Matt (Michelle) and three grandchildren. Adam, Alex and Anna.
