It was a damp, chilly October morning in 1957 when four individuals met in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to explore the idea of joining Bob Nourse, TEC’s founder, in a novel CEO round table concept. Subsequently TEC was launched with seven committed members, all of whom were non-competing company presidents and chief executive officers.
Today, TEC Wisconsin and TEC Michigan boast a membership approaching 1000 CEOs and Presidents throughout the two states. Additionally, TEC International, owned by Knowledge Universe, has over 13,000 members. They’ve developed the TEC program in virtually every major U.S. city, and have licensees in twelve other countries around the globe.
As we move into the future, TEC promises to live up to its <%= year(date) - 1957 %> year-old mission of increasing the effectiveness and enhancing the lives of CEOs. Our organization is also using advanced technology and information-transfer systems to keep busy CEOs up-to-date and in touch with this dynamic, global economy.
In particular, TEC’s premier interactive website at www.vistage.com (TEC is an affiliate of Vistage International) is one of the most sophisticated tools specifically designed to meet CEO informational exchange needs on a global basis. Soon, there will be economic-advantage portals at this site and other e-commerce innovations so that TEC members can do business more economically and efficiently. In addition, virtual video communication is planned to link resources to TEC members from around the globe.
