About TEC:home letter

Welcome to TEC Wisconsin & Michigan!

The year was 1957 when TEC came to life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Founded by Bob Nourse, the concept was simple.  Put together a group of non-competing chief executives in a facilitated meeting environment where they could share "best-in-class" business ideas with one another and then hold each other accountable for results.

51 years later TEC's mission remains the same: to increase the effectiveness and enhance the lives of CEOs.  This is accomplished by:

  1. Regular confidential meetings of 12 to 16 CEOs moderated by a highly skilled TEC facilitator.
  2. Periodic seminars led by world class business experts on a multitude of timely business subjects.
  3. One-on-one coaching events designed to enable CEO implementation of cutting edge business strategy and tactics.
  4. Instant access to a worldwide network of nearly 16,000 TEC executives.
  5. Complimentary use of TEC's interactive website designed specifically to meet the needs of CEOs.
In these trying economic times, TEC delivers business life-saving tools for its membership.  Among the many benefits of belonging to TEC:

  1. The latest tools to control costs and improve productivity are shared at regular TEC meetings.
  2. Balance sheet and income/expensive relationships are shared between members to exploit hidden opportunities to preserve and maximize cash flow.
  3. KPI's (key performance indicators) are developed by members to  share significant business trends.
  4. Unique business evaluation procedures are shared to facilitate merger and acquisition strategies.
  5. The latest leadership development techniques are routinely shared in the interest of improved management performance.
  6. Profit impact of market share strategies are detailed by industry and discussed by the membership on a regular basis.
  7. Emergent health care cost containment opportunities are reviewed regularly.
  8. Value-added pricing strategies for experience-based market offerings are pilot-tested within the TEC group.
Most importantly, as a member of TEC, the CEOs world is brought sharply into focus by his/her peers.  Establishing priorities for the business and implementing them is, perhaps, the greatest value of membership.  Holding members accountable for the decisions they make is also central to the overall success of the TEC process.

You owe it to yourself to explore the world of TEC. 16,000 members in 14 countries have done it and have found it to be one of the most profitable investments of their business careers, especially during times of an economic crisis  such as we are experiencing now.
